Hazards - Pt. 1 (Смешно)

I find it slightly amusing that more people are killed annually by teddy bears than by grizzly bears and that bagels can potentially "...tear up your insides, ruin your marriage, and land you in jail." If you swallow a bite of bagel that is too big, it could rip a hole in your esophagus. Forgetting that you are slicing a bagel and start sawing away at your hand-ly flesh can easily make an ER trip possible. Eating an entire poppy-seed bagel can turn up a positive on an opium drug test. Talk about a dangerous yet simple food. Be careful of holy water too...because so many people place their fingertips in it, you could potentially be spreading a mixture of fungus and E. Coli on your forehead and abdomen...NEVER drink it! For all you lefties our there, a survey taken in 1992 showed that left-handed people die a full nine years earlier than righties. Perhaps because of the "right-hand standard" during the design process of machinery? Your guess is as good as mine. Finally, Finland! The harsh winter weather takes a toll as it seems in the form of frozen water (commonly referred to as "ice") and snow which tends to be a harmful combination when layered on top of one another. In a country consisting of only five million people, one million will be injured in a slip or fall leading to scrapes, broken bones, and bruises. Whereas in Austria (population of eight million), only eight hundred thousand will experience these results. Think of it for a second... 1 in 5 Fins, or 1 in 10 Austrians...that's a big jump. Finland has the highest of these types of accidents in all of the European Union; it's not exactly senior-citizen friendly in the "slips and falls" department. Not my idea of a retirement destination point...For more interesting insights to the world of simple stuff that can injure you, please refer to the book - "100 Most Dangerous Things in Everyday Life and What You Can Do About Them" by Laura Lee - Klicken Sie Hier.
